The picture was taken in Brasília, Brazil, looking over the Paranoá Lake, around which the city has been built. There are two zip files available for download: one contains the image in Bitmap format, the other contains the image in JPG format (this latter version of the image takes nearly no space on your disk). Both zip files, each containing one of the two formats just mentioned, are always available for download on the same Web site. Both JPG and BMP images have the same size (600 x 450 pixels) and carry exactly the same image. Either image (JPG or BMP) will work well with any screen resolution, whether you place the image central, on your screen, or strech it. (As an example, I currently enjoy the JPG version in two computers that have the following screen resolutions: 1024x768 and 1400x1050.)
