My Music, free of charge
specific information
Way before the Web existed, I've been sharing my songs and my singing & playing with friends. Of course the Web has made it all the more convenient. It has also increased the number of friends, as compared to the days in which cassette tapes were handed out personally, or else mailed,
Some of my music is here, at MieNet, and a much larger collection elsewhere (to access it see here).
What kind of music do I write, you may ask?
My 200+ songs make up quite a diverse variety, from rock and roll to classical – though the largest bulk of my composing lies in neither of these two styles. Possibly within the range of light rock, ballads, Latin and jazz, you find it's where my inspiration for composing has been most productive.
At any rate, among my songs, you'll find Brazilian style (samba, bossa, samba-canção, chorinho, etc), as well as American and International styles (country, folk, rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, ballads, etc, and even a bit of classical, too, as already mentioned),
Most of the songs I've written are in either English or Portuguese. Now and then you'll find there are two versions of the same song, but each in one of these languages. (Though I can speak six languages, most of my inspiration for lyrics comes in either English or Portuguese.) Other than these two main languages, you currently find on-line a song written in Danish (the text is available, with the lyrics translated to English, as well). I am little by little making my lyrics available on-line, too.
In most recordings I am singing and playing the guitar--classical or electric. In a few songs I sing and play other musical instruments--bass, organ, drums/percussion.
A few songs are instrumental. In these, you'll usually find me playing the guitar. At any rate, I always indicate whenever I'm not playing the guitar, as this is the musical instruments that my friends see me carrying all over.
The recordings, all of which you are welcome to download for free, have been made in a variety of ways: some are live, others are private recordings, and a few are reproductions from records and similar professional recordings in studios.
All songs are in MP3 format. If you need an MP3 player, you find info, tips & links regarding digital players on one of my MP3 pages.
I hope you'll derive some enjoyable moments as you listen to this alternative collection that I make freely available to you!
Please feel always free to drop me a line, whether you have a comment, a wish, just to say that you enjoyed (or didn't...), or whatever else it may be.
