The format of this eBook, coming upgrades, and the proper display of statistics tables, all deserve a few words before you get fully started.
Upgrades:
MieNet's 2002 Season F1fan-eBook's first release includes a few sections/pages that are still being worked on. These will be fully available in the coming eBook Upgrades, as indicated in each of these sections/pages at stake.
Yes. This eBook will undergo a number of upgrades during the off-Season, so that by the time the motors start roaring again in Australia, we have a pleasant and informative piece of memorabilia from the 2002 Season (which includes the Post-Season period, as a bonus).
Meanwhile, I'll also be checking further all figures & information appearing in the eBook and amending in the coming versions whatever may need updating or correction. Please see this related FAQ entry.
Once the eBook has reached its final form, some of the observations standing below should emerge quite evidently, as you browse and search for information. Yet, if you are not familiar with this eBook format, it is helpful that you start out fully aware of the main points rendering this format unique and efficient.
This information will allow you to derive the most from the current eBook.
Unique Format:
So, what is special about the format used for MieNet''s 2002 Season F1fan-eBook? On the whole, it is the ease and swiftness with which you can have at your fingertips any bit of information that has been entered here and that you may be after, anytime. A number of factors collaborate toward this fortunate outcome.
To start with, all data here contained is being crisscrossed and interlinked as much as time allows (drivers, teams, circuits, etc., are hyperlinked either to a related main entry or to a related special reference). When the eBook reaches its final form, there should thus be a well-grounded network of links underlying the entire data structure. (More information on hyperlinks is available in the eBook FAQ.)
In addition to the convenience of the hyperlinks, the Search Engine that the eBook counts on is not only fast; it is quality, too! You can get a glimpse of its usefulness in the eBook FAQ, though you must try it out, before you can fully realize what a useful asset this search engine really is.
Another positive aspect of the format used for this eBook is its overall handling, quite simple, practical, and intuitive, thus easy to enjoy.
The tree structure integrates the eBook contents in a way such that they seem always readily accessible. Incidentally, you may choose to keep the tree structure visible, or to hide it (thus widening the screen area where the contents display) and only make the tree visible for navigation or for a general outlook, when needed. Either way is possible, as further referred to below.
Displaying Tables:
There are a number of tables, displaying all sorts of statistics. Anytime that one of these tables may not seem to display neatly, just please increase the display area for the table, till all its contents are lining up properly.
If your monitor resolution is 800x600 or lower, you may wish to maximize the window of the eBook-viewing program. And if this is still insufficient, offers you an excellent extra alternative: you can temporarily hide the tree structure, thus allowing the table to occupy the full width of your screen.
To hide the tree structure, please click the program button that displays a document. This button is located to the right of another displaying a small tree. To the left of both these buttons is one displaying both a tree and a document. This last button is pressed by default: it allows viewing both the tree structure and the text area.
So, to view only the text area, you press the "document button;" to view only the tree structure, you press the "tree button;" and to view both the tree structure and text area (default), you press the "tree+document button."
Now please see the next page for a few remarks on MieNet's on-/off-line versions for this and other eBooks available at MieNet.
