Points System

- The first eight drivers to take the final flag will be awarded points as follows: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Please see the page All Points Systems for a historical outlook and the section What if 2002... for illustrations based on the 2002 Season.

| P5 - Fifth Place | 4 |
| P6 - Sixth Place | 3 |
| P7 - Seventh Place | 2 |
| P8 - Eigth Place | 1 |
This is the fifth different points system used in Formula One racing, as detailed on the page All Points Systems.
