Abbreviations, below: used by FIFA, as well as in this eBook.

South Africa's anthem has been included, below, following the 2006 World Cup Nation's Anthems.
ANG: Angola {D} MP3 not available
ARG: Argentina {C}
AUS: Australia {F}
BRA: Brazil (Current Champion) {F} — Pls. Note: the Anthem directly linked to, from here, has been Brazil's single official Anthem, since Independence (1822) to the current date. Brazil's shift from Monarchy to Republic (1889) did not reflect in a change of Anthems – simply a patriotic song celebrating the new Republic was added to the small collection of patriotic songs (celebrating the Independence, and the Flag, in special), however little patriotism transpires in Brazilians, it should be added, except when it is a matter of their National Soccer Squad. (This information is prudently advanced, lest the additional material you may read at the "midi link" could leave you wandering.)
CRC: Costa Rica {A} sheet music not available
CIV: Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) {C} neither MP3 nor sheet music available
CRO: Croatia {F}
CZE: Czech Republic {E}
ECU: Ecuador {A} sheet music not available
ENG: England {B} neither MP3 nor sheet music available for England. — Pls. Note: There is a large number of traditional songs associated with England, among which, the patriotic W.Blake's "Jerusalem," J.Thomson's "Rule Britannia," and A.C.Benson's "Land of Hope and Glory" (the anthem available at the above Midi-link, and the melody of which is taken from a well known piece to North Americans: "Pomp and Circumstance"). In spite of the good variety of possible anthems, there is no decreed official Anthem whether for England, or for any of the other British Countries (
Scotland,
Wales, and
Northern Ireland), although each of these Home Nations has a favorite patriotic or national song that is used in place of an inexistent official individual Anthem – respectively, "Flower Of Scotland," "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau (Land Of My Fathers)," and "Ireland's Call."
When the English Squad plays international matches, it is the National Anthem of
Great Britain that is used, even though it is not Great Britain, as a whole, lining up then. "Land of Hope and Glory" (above-mentioned) is only occasionally used as an English national song (in the Commonwealth Games, and other occasions when Scottish, Welsh and⁄or Northern Irish teams are also involved).
Incidentally, the English Squad has not traditionally represented England + Scotland + Wales + Northern Ireland, altogether, in World Cups, or international tournaments (UEFA included). They have, each, their own independent Football Associations, domestic Leagues, National Teams, and are proud of their separate identities. Thus, these Home Nations have, each, been World Cup contenders, on their own, under their own Flags, and, as it logically follows, under their own "anthems" (national songs) as well.
So, to sum it all up, it is only in the case of England's Squad that the famous "God Save the Queen" is played, despite the fact that it is not England's, but Great Britain's official National Anthem (London's functioning as the capital of both England and the U.K., along with England's size – 57% of the area of Great Britain – may be partly accountable for this asymmetry). Below you can hear⁄download the British Anthem, which will be heard prior to England's 2006 World Cup matches:
•
Great Britain sheet music available
FRA: France {G}
GER: Germany (Hosting Nation) {A}
GHA: Ghana {E} neither MP3 nor sheet music available
IRN: Iran {D}
ITA: Italy {E}
JPN: Japan {F}
KOR: Korea Republic (South K.) {G}
MEX: Mexico {D}
NED: Netherlands (Holland) {C}
PAR: Paraguay {B} sheet music not available
POL: Poland {A}
POR: Portugal {D}
KSA: Saudi Arabia {H} sheet music not available
SCG: Serbia and Montenegro {C} sheet music not available. — Pls. Note that, following the May 21, 2006 referendum, both
Serbia and
Montenegro will be enjoying the status of two individual nations. For World Cup purposes in 2006, however, the two countries are playing under the common blue-white-red flag–so, logic dictates, the anthem likely to be heard before the matches played by the Serbia and Montenegro Squad should be the one linked to just above. (For other related information, see further remarks.) At any rate, the anthems for the two States follow, right below–respectively, Bože Pravde (God of Justice) and Oj, svijetla majska zoro (Oh, bright dawn of May). Sheet music is available in both cases, but the MP3 links allow direct download only–an extra link for on-line streaming is available for Serbia.
