The current eBook, in fact – and in contrast with the first World Cup eBook (from 2002) – results from the joint use of two different versions of TreePad! 
Unusual as this probably is, a quick reference to how the current eBook was born is in order. And you'll see it all makes a lot of sense, after all, the end result being that you have a better organized and formatted eBook to enjoy!
But first, let us focus, for a moment, on a fairly common questions I get ("why has TreePad been elected as MieNet's eBook-software?") – a question which you might be asking, yourself – and then let us briefly review a few points that are meant to ensure you can derive the most from having downloaded this eBook.
The few remarks as to how and why this eBook was privileged with, say, a "stereophonic" birth follow these two initial observations. After that, you'll be tipped on where to go to find a large variety of other e-books (whether or not made with TreePad software) and related remarks.

"Why TreePad?" having been a fairly common question, as just mentioned, an itemized reply to is in on this page, on line, There I have briefly listed the main reasons I have grown fond of TreePad, over other software. I can advance here, in short, the chief reasons: ease of use, variety of resources, and low or no cost, both for me and for the eBook user.
Elsewhere on MieNet I list some of the advantages I find in TreePad, beyond its use for making eBooks⁄Web sites.
Finally, an earlier eBook has carried a short FAQ on TreePad. Although a few years old, by now, this FAQ is by no means outdated as far as covering basic traits of the software producing both the eBook you are (or will be) enjoying off-line and its sister Web site generated version, on-line. (Just in case this is news to you, with a few clicks, an entire Web site can be generated from a TreePad file (or eBook), or part of one, at the user's choice.)

Certainly, TreePad is the most useful software I've owned, and thus my favorite, for its versatility and trustiness. Except for drawing, for music, and for surfing the Web⁄getting mail, I use no software other than TreePad in all my computing experience (which is quite intense, from sheer entertainment to work and scientific research).
The above being shared, I must now prudently add the disclaimer that, whatever you read about on MieNet (which includes this eBook!), this is of course all unofficial information. It is basically my experience using the software, which I have been doing for about ten years now. Thus, my words enjoy the mere 'authority' of a pleased, 'old' TreePad user.
For lists of software features, screen-shots, examples, comparison, etc., and truly professional information on the software, you evidently need to go to the Web site.
Before closing this topic, it should be added that there is also freeware: . Although I own the top TreePad programs (mentioned below), I still make use of the good ol' TreePad Freeware, now and then, which was the TreePad I first made acquaintance with, way back in the mid 90's. It is quite a nice program, very reliable, really a top-line organizer.
I was not in the least surprised to find out that enjoys the honor of being recommended to researchers by the United Nations! Indeed, if no word processing is required, if no images need to be stored, and if one can do without some of the comforts that we end up spoiled by (offered by its bigger TreePad sisters), TreePad Lite will do the job as well as any other TreePad version!
Now, please do not let the above remarks confuse you:
To enjoy the current eBook off-line, all you need to do is to download the off-line version of the eBook, unzip the downloaded file, and double-click on the EXE file that unzips. That's all! By then, the eBook will have opened before your eyes.
(If you have already downloaded your copy of the eBook, you know the above is accurate. It is really this simple!)
You need no special instructions to run the eBook, so simple it all is, it should be stressed!
Nor do you need any extra software. This is a stand-alone eBook! Accordingly, it requires no installation, nor uninstallation, obviously. The eBook simply opens every time you double-click on its file.
Now, while we are on this, let me please suggest that you remember to explore of the excellent search function that TreePad includes in the EXE-generated eBooks! I have no doubt that this is a bonus that you, too, will greatly appreciate having at your fingertips.
As both eBook versions (on-line and off-line) are absolutely identical (they are generated out of the very same "mother TreePad file"), I have no doubt that you will favor searching for data, or for a particular page, on your off-line version, even when you happen to be enjoying the on-line version. For there are more advanced search possibilities, and a good variety of them, in your off-line version!
Other features you are sure to find convenient include: the options screen, the zoom function (10% - 1000%!), as well as the history back⁄forward, etc., a useful function which allows you to move back and forth between pages.
You may enjoy, additionally, changing the looks of the eBook: there are 10 skins available to change its appearance.
Finally, it is never too much to stress this clearly: the World Cup eBook you are downloading (or have downloaded) is, guaranteed, a virus-free EXE file.
Now, as promised, for the sake of curiosity, here is a brief account of how the current World Cup Fan eBook was created.
Although by no means strictly necessary, two different (registered) versions of TreePad were made use of, as already remarked, in the process of getting this eBook ready. Below you find out which versions, and why.

, where my many years' long sports database is safely stored, was used for drafting pages and experimenting with format & lay-out, till these pages were ready to be copied into (or exported to) the eBook, itself (item 2, below).
There were two reasons for using this method: [1] convenience, as it was possible to do all the needed formatting and experimentation in the very place (software) where all the needed data was available; and [2] the fact that TreePad Enterprise is a truly heavy duty version of this software – it can store up to 384 Gb! Thus, there was never the need to be concerned with how many new pages were being successively opened and stored. {

(or TreePad 'Biz,' in short) was then used to build the final eBook version, make the final touches, generate the eBook map, and the Web site version of the eBook (see footnote, below, in case you haven't yet).
- Finally, the handy freeware took care of the final step: it produced a self-standing eBook (out of the original TPD eBook file), so the eBook can be offered with the added convenience of being ready for "plug-'n-play." Well, in this case, it truly is "download-unzip-'n-play"!
